NH Collection Launches Dubai Ibn Battuta Hotel After Major Transformation
NH Collection has unveiled its transformed 396-room Dubai Ibn Battuta hotel, featuring renovated suites, Benihana, new dining concepts, rooftop leisure facilities and expanded event spaces.

DUBAI, UAE — Dubai’s hospitality landscape has gained a new premium destination with the official launch of NH Collection Dubai Ibn Battuta, following the extensive phased transformation of the former Oaks Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai.
The rebranded property introduces 396 renovated rooms and suites, refreshed public spaces, expanded dining concepts and enhanced leisure facilities, positioning itself to serve leisure travellers, families, corporate guests and the growing meetings and events market.
Located beside Ibn Battuta Mall, the hotel offers direct access to Dubai’s business districts, beaches, Expo City and major entertainment attractions, making it one of the city’s more strategically positioned urban hotels.
The launch also strengthens NH Collection Hotels & Resorts’ growing presence in the United Arab Emirates. It joins NH Collection Dubai The Palm as part of the brand’s regional expansion, with additional openings already planned in Ras Al Khaimah.
A new chapter for an established address
According to General Manager Akram Al Ameer, the rebranding represents more than a name change. He said the investment programme has focused on elevating design, personalized service and the overall guest experience while building on the reputation of an already well-established Dubai property.
The hotel’s accommodation ranges from Collection, Superior and Premium Rooms to Junior Suites, Family Suites and Terrace Pool Suites, some featuring private outdoor terraces and temperature-controlled plunge pools. Club Rooms and selected suites also include access to an executive lounge, while two-bedroom configurations cater to families and longer stays.
Dining becomes the centrepiece
Food and beverage play a central role in the hotel’s refreshed identity. The internationally recognised Benihana brings its signature Japanese teppanyaki experience to the property, with chefs preparing meals live in front of guests.
The launch also introduces Taste, an all-day restaurant inspired by global cuisines, and Nomad, a contemporary café designed for specialty coffee, light meals and informal meetings. They complement existing venues including Skyline Pool Bar, Irish favourite McGettigan’s, and Rodeo Drive, an American-inspired restaurant combining Tex-Mex cuisine with live entertainment.
Business, wellness and family travel
Beyond accommodation and dining, the hotel retains a strong focus on meetings and events. Its facilities include 871 square metres of flexible event space alongside breakout rooms for conferences, corporate gatherings, weddings and private celebrations.
Guests also have access to a rooftop swimming pool, fitness centre, spa, beauty salon and Kids Club, reinforcing the hotel’s appeal as both a business and family-friendly destination.
The launch reflects a broader trend across Dubai’s hospitality sector, where established hotels are increasingly undergoing major repositioning rather than complete redevelopment. As international visitor numbers continue to rise and demand grows for experience-led stays, brands are investing in upgraded properties that combine distinctive dining, wellness and flexible event offerings with prime city locations.
For NH Collection, the Dubai Ibn Battuta opening signals another step in its Middle East growth strategy, while adding a contemporary new hospitality destination to one of Dubai’s most recognizable neighbourhoods.
