Vanessa Trump Says She’s Cancer-Free Six Months After Diagnosis

Vanessa Trump, the former wife of Donald Trump Jr., has announced that she is cancer-free six months after being diagnosed with breast cancer, sharing the encouraging update in a video posted by her daughter, Kai Trump, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The 48-year-old made the announcement on Friday, October 23, saying her latest test results had come back clear. The short video, shared on Kai’s Instagram account, showed the mother and daughter discussing the diagnosis before embracing after Vanessa delivered the news.

Kai, 19, said her mother had been diagnosed in April and explained that they wanted to share her experience, including how the cancer was discovered and how she had overcome the illness. The clip was a preview of a longer conversation featuring Vanessa, Kai and radiologist Dr Nicole Saphier, which focuses on Vanessa’s experience, breast cancer prevention and early detection.

Vanessa first made her diagnosis public on May 20, revealing that she was working with her medical team on a treatment plan. She also thanked the doctors who had performed a procedure on her earlier that week and said she was drawing strength from her children, family and close friends while concentrating on her health and recovery.

In a subsequent update in June, Vanessa disclosed that she had been recovering from surgery for about four weeks and expected to begin the next stage of treatment soon. She did not publicly disclose further details about the type or stage of her cancer, and her latest announcement did not specify which treatments she received or the nature of the tests that returned clear results.

Vanessa shares five children with Donald Trump Jr., whom she married in 2005 before the couple separated in 2018. Their eldest child, Kai, has increasingly appeared in the public eye through her social media activities and golf-related appearances. Donald Trump Jr. is the eldest son of US President Donald Trump.

The health update comes as October is observed internationally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, when health organizations and advocates promote education, screening and support for people affected by the disease. Kai said the conversation with her mother and Dr Saphier was intended to encourage greater awareness and help people understand the importance of being proactive about their health.

Breast cancer remains a major public health concern, and early detection can play an important role in identifying the disease before it advances. Screening recommendations vary according to a person’s age, medical history and risk factors, while symptoms and appropriate diagnostic procedures differ from one individual to another. Health professionals generally advise people to discuss screening and any unusual breast changes with qualified medical practitioners rather than rely on a single approach for everyone.

Vanessa’s announcement offers a personal account of a difficult health experience and a positive update on her latest test results, but it does not provide a complete medical picture of her condition or long-term outlook. By sharing her story alongside a discussion of prevention and early detection, she and Kai have brought renewed attention to breast cancer awareness at a time when public education remains an important part of the wider response to the disease.
