Tompolo Boosts Tinubu’s 2027 Campaign With 50 Vehicles in Kano

Niger Delta leader and businessman High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has donated 50 campaign vehicles to the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Kano State, strengthening the group’s grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general elections.

The vehicles were officially presented in Kano during a ceremony attended by political leaders and supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to organizers, the fleet will be deployed across Kano’s 44 local government areas to support community-level engagement, ward coordination and neighbourhood outreach as the movement expands its campaign structure.

Tompolo, who founded and sponsors the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, was represented at the event by Kestin Pondi. Speaking on his behalf, Pondi said the initiative was created to take the Federal Government’s policies and programmes directly to Nigerians through face-to-face engagement rather than relying solely on rallies and large political gatherings.

The movement says it intends to establish coordinators and ambassadors at state, local government, ward and polling-unit levels, with volunteers expected to engage households across the country as preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather momentum.

Receiving the donation, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf said the vehicles would improve the logistics of grassroots political mobilization throughout the state. He noted that effective community engagement requires mobility and said the fleet would support campaign structures across Kano’s extensive network of local governments.

The governor also urged political parties and their supporters to conduct peaceful, issue-based campaigns, encouraging candidates to focus on their programmes, achievements and future plans rather than personal attacks or political violence.

The Kano donation is not an isolated development. Earlier this month, the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement launched its northern mobilization in Katsina, where campaign vehicles were distributed to coordinators across the state’s 34 local government areas. Days later, the group unveiled another fleet of vehicles and campaign equipment in Borno as it continued building its nationwide grassroots network.

During the Kano event, representatives of the movement also expressed confidence in President Tinubu’s re-election prospects and argued that his administration’s economic reforms and infrastructure projects have strengthened public support. Those remarks represent the movement’s political position rather than an established electoral outcome.

As political parties and support groups increasingly position themselves for 2027, the Kano vehicle donation highlights how campaign organizations are investing in local structures long before formal electioneering begins. In a state that remains one of Nigeria’s most influential electoral battlegrounds, grassroots organization and sustained voter engagement are likely to play a significant role in shaping the next presidential contest.
