Amara Okonkwo runs the Follow Global Trends Nigeria bureau, coordinating reporting from Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt.

She spent more than a decade covering Nigerian politics and regulation before joining the newsroom, with a particular focus on how federal policy lands in the real economy — for traders, manufacturers and households.

Her work pairs documentary evidence with careful interviewing, and she has led several of the platform's investigative series on procurement and public spending.
