Shakira has added another milestone to her remarkable comeback era, with her October 3 concert in Madrid becoming Amazon Music’s most-viewed livestream performance by a female artist.

The Colombian superstar’s show, streamed globally through Amazon Music, Prime Video and Twitch, was part of her 12-date Madrid residency under the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour. Amazon Music announced the record the following day, although it has not released the actual number of viewers who watched the broadcast.

The concert was Shakira’s first full-concert global livestream and served as the centrepiece of Amazon Music’s 2026 Women Shaping Latin Music campaign. The event was available without an Amazon Music subscription, widening access to fans watching from around the world.

More than 50,000 people were also inside the temporary Shakira Stadium in Madrid, a purpose-built venue at the Iberdrola Music complex created for the residency. The Madrid run was originally announced for three shows but was expanded to 12 dates after strong demand.

One of the night's biggest surprises came when Dua Lipa walked onto the stage to perform an acoustic version of “Antología” with Shakira. The song, originally released on Shakira’s 1995 album Pies Descalzos, gave the concert an unexpected connection between two generations of global pop stars.

The collaboration had a personal connection for Lipa. She had previously performed “Antología” during her own appearance in Bogotá, and that performance helped inspire Shakira to invite her to join the Madrid show. The two singers later shared their appreciation for the moment on social media.

The record adds to the growing scale of Shakira’s Madrid residency. Her Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran tour has become a major live platform for the Colombian singer, combining songs from her more than three-decade career with newer material from the Grammy-winning album that gave the tour its name.

Amazon Music had positioned the Madrid broadcast as more than a concert stream. The company built its wider campaign around women shaping Latin music and culture, with additional initiatives involving women-owned businesses and plans by Amazon Web Services, Shakira’s Fundación Pies Descalzos and Laboratoria to provide free artificial-intelligence and cloud training to one million women by 2028.

The choice of Shakira for Amazon Music’s global showcase also reflects her unusually broad reach across languages and generations. Amazon said before the concert that Shakira was its most-listened-to Latina artist worldwide in 2026 year-to-date, while “Dai Dai” ranked as its No. 1 song worldwide over the same period.

The Madrid performance demonstrates how the concert business is increasingly extending beyond the people physically inside an arena. A temporary stadium can host tens of thousands of fans, while a global livestream can turn the same performance into a digital event accessible across multiple platforms and time zones. For artists and streaming companies, that creates another way to build global audiences around live music without relying solely on physical venue capacity.

For Shakira, the Amazon Music record is another sign of the extraordinary reach of the Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran era. The combination of a sold-out-scale Madrid residency, a surprise Dua Lipa collaboration and a platform record shows how a live performance can become a global digital moment at the same time. As music companies increasingly compete for attention through exclusive livestreams and artist partnerships, Shakira’s Madrid concert offers a clear example of how the future of live entertainment may be experienced both inside the stadium and simultaneously on screens around the world.
