Celine Dion Takes Paris Fashion Week by Storm With Eiffel Tower Performance
Celine Dion stunned Paris Fashion Week with a surprise performance of “I’m Alive” at L’Oréal’s Eiffel Tower show, adding another high-profile moment to her return to the stage.

Celine Dion turned the opening of Paris Fashion Week into an unexpected concert on Monday night, making a surprise appearance at L’Oréal Paris’s runway show beneath the Eiffel Tower and closing the event with one of her best-known hits.
The Canadian superstar emerged on the runway in a long black gown and performed “I’m Alive,” her 2002 hit, before being joined by a group of L’Oréal ambassadors and celebrities. The appearance brought an unexpected musical finale to a show already featuring some of the biggest names in fashion and entertainment.
The performance took place at L’Oréal Paris’s annual “Express Your Worth” show at Place Joffre, opposite the Eiffel Tower, as Paris Fashion Week got underway. Among those taking part in the show were Viola Davis, Eva Longoria, Simone Ashley, Aja Naomi King, Kendall Jenner, Heidi Klum, Cara Delevingne and Jane Fonda, alongside Indian film star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Paralympic champion Beatrice Vio.
Dion’s appearance was not simply a celebrity cameo. The singer has a longstanding relationship with L’Oréal Paris, having become a global brand ambassador for the beauty company in 2019. Her return to the brand’s Paris runway therefore brought together two strands of her public comeback — music and fashion — in front of an international audience. Reuters reported that L’Oréal is the largest brand within the L’Oréal Group and has been a major contributor to the company's growth.
The moment also comes during a particularly significant period in Dion’s career. After years away from regular live performances, she returned to the stage in Paris earlier this month, beginning a 26-show concert run at the Plenitude Arena in Nanterre. The current schedule includes 16 performances through September and October, followed by another 10 planned for May 2027.
Her return to live music follows the period in which Dion publicly discussed her diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that affected her ability to perform. Her documentary I Am: Celine Dion, released in 2024, chronicled her health struggles and efforts to return to the stage. Her recent Paris concerts have consequently been closely followed by fans and international media.
Monday’s fashion performance was another indication of how prominently Dion has returned to Paris's cultural scene. Vogue France noted that the singer had already generated significant attention around the French capital following the start of her concert series, with fans gathering outside her hotel and large audiences attending her shows.
The choice of “I’m Alive” also gave the appearance an obvious emotional resonance without requiring the singer to make a formal statement about her personal journey. The song, originally released on her A New Day Has Come album, became the soundtrack to a theatrical fashion finale as Dion performed in front of the illuminated Eiffel Tower before fellow L’Oréal ambassadors joined her on the runway.
Paris Fashion Week itself runs through October 6 and will feature major houses including Dior, Tom Ford, Schiaparelli and Givenchy. With Dion remaining in Paris for her concert residency, further appearances at fashion events remain possible, although no additional performance has been confirmed.
For L’Oréal, the collaboration also reinforces the increasingly blurred line between fashion, beauty and entertainment at major runway events. Rather than limiting a fashion show to clothes and models, the company created a large-scale cultural spectacle involving music, celebrity and global ambassadors — with Dion providing the closing moment.
For Dion, meanwhile, the Paris Fashion Week appearance adds another chapter to a carefully watched return to public performance. From her concert stage to a runway beneath the Eiffel Tower, the singer is once again occupying some of the world's biggest cultural platforms. The broader significance is not simply that a superstar surprised a fashion audience with a hit song; it is that Dion's presence in Paris now reflects a wider return to live performance and international visibility after a prolonged period away from the spotlight, making each appearance part of a comeback that audiences around the world are continuing to follow.
