Former Catholic priest Sandro Ferretto married Sharon Jepng’ok, a Tugen woman from Baringo South, during a traditional Koito ceremony held in Seretion Village, Kasiela. The colourful celebration has attracted widespread attention across East Africa, not only because Ferretto once wore clerical robes, but because he chose to embrace the cultural traditions of the very community where he had spent years serving as a missionary.

According to local reports, Ferretto devoted nearly 12 years to missionary work in Baringo before stepping away from active priestly ministry.
