Governor Hope Uzodimma made it clear that there is no Rainbow Coalition in Imo, asserting the governing party's total dominance during a high-profile political gathering in Owerri on Tuesday. The governor addressed party delegates during the official distribution of operational campaign vehicles by the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, a grassroots organization dedicated to securing a second term for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Uzodimma instructed mobilization officers to avoid aligning with cross-party platforms, maintaining that the All Progressives Congress remains the only viable political structure in Imo State. He emphasized that genuine grassroots backing would yield organic votes for Tinubu without relying on external alliances.

"The PBAT Door-to-Door officers and coordinators, listen to me," Uzodimma warned. "You are members of the APC. If I see you work outside the APC, I will collect the vehicle from you. You are empowered to work for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC. There is no rainbow coalition in Imo State."

Warning Over Campaign Logistics and Loyalty The governor used the vehicle handover ceremony to enforce strict operational discipline among district coordinators. He insisted that the newly distributed logistics assets were provided strictly to amplify Tinubu's administrative achievements and reinforce the party's standard-bearers.

Uzodimma commended High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, widely known as Tompolo, whose logistical network supported the deployment of the mobilization fleet across the South-East zone. However, the governor insisted that resources deployed inside the state must follow standard party lines.

He urged supporters to deliver straight-ticket victories for the party across every tier of governance, spanning the State House of Assembly, federal legislative seats, governorship races, and the presidential contest.

The governor stated that Imo voters have witnessed ongoing federal infrastructure projects and will reward the administration with decisive ballots on election day.

Political Friction Surrounding Cross-Party Coalitions Uzodimma's remarks reflect underlying friction between mainstream governors within the ruling party and external political networks operating ahead of the 2027 campaign.

The Rainbow Coalition concept, championed by Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, promotes a multi-party alliance allowing opposition figures to back Tinubu while preserving independent regional structures. While that framework gained traction across parts of the South-South, Uzodimma has consistently resisted outside coordination in Imo, arguing that external arrangements dilute internal party discipline.

By drawing a firm line against alternative campaign platforms, Uzodimma seeks to maintain absolute control over the party machinery across the South-East geopolitical zone.

With political alignments intensifying ahead of the 2027 general elections, the governor’s directive signals an aggressive campaign to centralize state mobilization under the state's established party leadership.

Political Strategy and Campaign Organization Insights Effective election campaigns depend on strong grassroots coordination, clear message discipline, and transparent logistical oversight. Political leadership academies and governance consultancies provide voter outreach training, dispute resolution workshops, and civic education programs to help regional organizations run orderly, accountable electoral operations.
