€40 million per year. That’s the jaw-dropping figure Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen just turned down from Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal.
The Napoli forward, known for his explosive goals and relentless drive, has reportedly declined Al-Hilal’s lucrative offer—for the second time. Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba broke the news via X (formerly Twitter), confirming that the proposal mirrored last year’s deal, which also collapsed after Napoli shifted financial terms.
“Excl: Victor Osimhen officially turns down Saudi club Al Hilal’s first offer. It was the same offer they made last year,” Buchi wrote.
Despite the wealth on the table, Osimhen seems focused on legacy rather than lifestyle. Sources close to the negotiation suggest a top Italian club is ready to meet his salary expectations, while Turkish powerhouse Galatasaray is aggressively pushing for a deal. Notably, Osimhen’s €70 million release clause isn’t a hurdle—only his decision stands between him and the next chapter.
Al-Hilal isn’t backing down, though. With the FIFA Club World Cup on the horizon, they want to seal the deal before Friday, and they’re ready to trigger that release clause in full.
Osimhen’s Message?
The rejection isn’t just about money—it’s a powerful statement. The 25-year-old, who played a starring role in Napoli’s Serie A title win and earned the league’s top scorer crown, appears more interested in Champions League nights than cash-filled contracts.
The Chase Is On
- Italian clubs are circling, looking to keep him in Serie A.
- Galatasaray smells opportunity and isn’t holding back.
- Al-Hilal remains confident—but the clock is ticking.
The football world now watches and waits. Will Osimhen stand firm in Europe? Or will Saudi persistence and deep pockets eventually tip the scale?
