She launched her fashion label, Veekee James, in 2019. The brand started on the Lagos Mainland before moving to Lagos Island. It includes clothing lines for both men and women under names like Veekee James Man and ShopRikan. She initially enrolled in the University of Uyo to study Biochemistry in 2015 but left to pursue fashion full-time. Veekee was raised as the only daughter among two brothers, having lost her father at a young age. She often speaks about her life challenges and faith in public interviews.

Veekee James got engaged to Femi Atere in October 2023, and they held their traditional and white wedding ceremonies in early 2024.

Veekee James’s 30th birthday on June 9, 2025, has stirred major buzz online. She wowed guests with a monumental 20-foot, 30-tier cake styled to represent her new age. The cake was reportedly crafted over 18 hours and cost ₦18 million, making it one of the tallest birthday cakes in Africa.
