May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has taken to social media to commemorate the one-year remembrance of late actor Junior Pope.
In a heartfelt tribute shared via her Instagram page, May reflected on how it has been a year since she last heard some of Junior Pope’s signature phrases. She expressed her continued prayers for his soul to rest in peace and asked for God’s divine protection over the family he left behind.
Recognizing the immense challenge of raising children, especially as a single parent, May offered a touching message of support to Junior Pope’s widow, Jennifer. She prayed for strength and divine inspiration to help her resume her business endeavors.

Junior Pope tragically lost his life on April 8th, 2024, after drowning in the Anam River, Anambra State, alongside others while returning from a movie shoot produced by Adanma Luke. The incident sparked outrage online, as the producer faced criticism for neglecting proper safety precautions for the cast and crew.
Since his untimely passing, May Edochie has continued to show unwavering support to his widow. She previously shared photos from her condolence visit and offered words of encouragement, expressing hope that Jennifer would one day find reasons to smile again.
On what would have been his posthumous birthday, May shared screenshots of Junior Pope’s last messages and penned an emotional note to Jennifer. She acknowledged the pain of such reminders, saying that posthumous birthdays often resurface heartbreaking memories. Nonetheless, she encouraged Jennifer to view it as his heavenly birthday. In her message, May described Junior Pope’s death as agonizing and posed several emotional questions to him.
Additionally, in July of the previous year, which would have marked the couple’s 10th wedding anniversary, May lamented how the day that was meant for celebration turned into one of sorrow. She imagined a joyful celebration filled with beautiful images and cherished memories. Encouraging Jennifer to stay strong, she reassured her that God would always watch over her and remain her source of strength.
