Popular Nigerian comedian I Go Save has spoken out strongly against airlines operating in Nigeria, expressing frustration over the persistent flight delays and sudden cancellations passengers often face. In a recent outburst, the comedian accused these companies of “gaslighting” customers and playing the victim when people finally speak up or react angrily.
“We’re Tired of the Excuses”
I Go Save didn’t hold back in his criticism. According to him, airlines often keep passengers waiting for hours without explanation, and when flights are eventually cancelled, they offer no sincere apology or solution. Instead, the customers—many of whom are working-class individuals or public figures with busy schedules—are left stranded and emotionally exhausted.
Gaslighting and Blame-Shifting
The comedian used the term “gaslight” to describe how these companies treat passengers—making it seem like it’s the passengers’ fault for expecting better. “When people react badly, you start playing the victim,” he said, calling out the lack of accountability from airline operators.
Public Support Pours In
Many Nigerians echoed I Go Save’s sentiments, taking to social media to share their own frustrating experiences with local and international carriers. From missed appointments to ruined events, countless passengers say they’ve been affected by the airlines’ poor communication and customer service.
Airlines Urged to Do Better
This isn’t the first time Nigerian airlines have come under fire for operational shortcomings. Critics argue that proper scheduling, prompt updates, and better customer service should be non-negotiable in the aviation industry, especially when customers are paying high prices for unreliable service.
Passengers Deserve Better
I Go Save’s comments serve as a powerful reminder that passengers are not just statistics, they are people with plans, families, and responsibilities. Flight disruptions should be handled with respect, timely information, and compensation where appropriate.
