Qoyum Abdulyekeen Ishola, a second-year student studying Electrical/Electronics Engineering, tragically lost his life during the protest. The incident prompted an immediate investigation, which was later escalated to the police headquarters in Abuja by Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, emphasizing the severity of the situation.
Dismissal of Indicted Officers
The officers dismissed from duty are Inspector Abiodun Kayode, Inspector James Samuel, and Sergeant Oni Philip. They were found guilty of multiple offenses, including abandoning their assigned posts, engaging in corrupt practices, and unlawfully exercising authority. The determination came after an internal disciplinary trial that followed a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding Ishola’s death.
