The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), in collaboration with global sportswear giant Nike, has unveiled the new jerseys for the Super Falcons ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) scheduled to take place in Morocco from July 5 to July 26.
Design Inspired by Nigerian Heritage
The new kits feature designs that celebrate Nigerian culture and heritage. The home jersey showcases a white base adorned with bold green brushstroke patterns across the front and sleeves, drawing inspiration from traditional Nigerian body art and textile prints. The away kit presents a deep green color with subtle textural detailing, complemented by neon green accents on the Nike logo, the updated Nigeria Football Federation crest, and the word “NAIJA” printed beneath the collar.
Symbolism and Significance
Both jerseys incorporate a new NFF logo featuring an eagle on a football, encircled by the words “Nigeria Football Federation 1945,” honoring the federation’s founding year. The designs aim to symbolize strength, unity, and the fearless nature of the Super Falcons as they prepare to defend their title as the most successful team in WAFCON history.
Upcoming Fixtures and Fan Reactions
The Super Falcons are set to debut their new kits in friendly matches against the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on May 31 in Ikenne and June 3 in Abeokuta, Ogun State. These fixtures serve as crucial preparations for the team ahead of the tournament. Fans have expressed enthusiasm for the new designs, praising their vibrant look and the pride they represent for the nation.
