“Let Us Be! We Didn’t Create the Problems in Nigeria” — Linc Edochie Responds to Trolls Attacking His Family.

In a passionate outburst that’s now making rounds across social media, Nollywood actor and filmmaker Linc Edochie has come forward to address the rising wave of online bullying directed at him and members of his family, including his new wife, his controversial brother Yul Edochie, Yul’s estranged wife May, and other relatives.
In a video posted on his official platform, Linc delivered a heartfelt message to Nigerians and online critics, urging them to channel their frustrations towards the real problems affecting the country, instead of making his family the scapegoats.
“Let us be! We didn’t create the problems in Nigeria,” Linc declared. “My family didn’t cause the fuel crisis. We didn’t destroy the education system. We didn’t put anyone in poverty. So why all the hate and insults?”
The Edochie family has been under intense public scrutiny, especially since Yul’s controversial decision to take a second wife, which led to a media storm, divided public opinions, and relentless attacks on everyone associated with the family.
However, Linc’s message was clear: stop projecting national pain onto personal lives.
He emphasized that while he understands the anger and disillusionment many Nigerians feel due to economic hardship, insecurity, and bad governance, the blame should be placed squarely where it belongs — not on celebrities living their personal lives.
“We are human beings too,” Linc continued. “We have feelings, families, responsibilities, and battles you don’t see. The way people come online to drag, insult, and wish evil on us — it’s not right. If you’re angry, go after the right people, not your fellow citizens.”
The actor also called for unity and understanding in a time when the country needs healing, not more division.
“If we must move forward as a country, we have to stop tearing each other down over personal decisions and start holding our leaders accountable,” he said.
This emotional address has sparked a wave of reactions, with many applauding Linc for speaking out and others still holding firm in their criticism of the Edochie family’s public choices.
Regardless of where one stands, Linc’s message is a reminder of the growing toll that online trolling takes on public figures — and a plea for empathy in an increasingly divided digital age.
Note: These reports are all allegedly, as seen on the internet.
