Fuji music legend Wasiu Alabi Ajibola Odetola, popularly known as Pasuma, has melted hearts online after sharing the touching moment he met his grandson for the first time in Canada.
Temilola Soboola posted a heartwarming video online showing the proud grandfather holding and adoring his newborn grandson. Beaming with joy, Pasuma showered the baby with heartfelt prayers during the emotional moment.
The video has since gone viral, drawing an outpouring of congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers across social media.
A Proud Father, Now a Proud Grandfather
Pasuma has long been known not only for his contributions to Fuji music but also for being a dedicated father. His son, Jibola Odetola—who shares both his name and striking resemblance—previously made headlines when he graduated high school with exceptional academic honors.
Jibola was the valedictorian of his graduating class, boasting a stellar 4.20 GPA. He received over $400,000 in scholarships in recognition of his academic excellence. Sharing his graduation photos on Instagram, the teenager expressed deep gratitude to God for his achievements and for being named valedictorian.
Personal Loss and Reflection
While 2024 brought joy with the arrival of his grandson, 2023 was a year of deep sorrow for Pasuma, as he lost his beloved mother, Alhaja Adijat Kuburat, on April 6th, 2023.
In a moving display of grief, Pasuma broke down in tears during her burial, which was attended by family, friends, and Islamic clerics. He emotionally bid her farewell, saying:
“Continue watching over me from heaven.”
Her burial followed Islamic rites and was held at her residence, surrounded by loved ones who came to pay their respects.
A Legacy of Kindness
In a throwback shared by actress Dayo Amusa, she recalled Pasuma’s kindness during their early years in the entertainment industry. She revealed how the singer once saved her from embarrassment by helping her when she had to use a rubber band to hold her Nokia phone together:
“It was Pasuma who saved me from the embarrassment of having to carry a rubber band Nokia phone in those days.”
From being a source of inspiration to many to now stepping into the role of a proud grandfather, Pasuma’s journey continues to touch hearts and celebrate both resilience and family values.
