Kizz Daniel, Angelique Kidjo, Johnny Drille Unite for New Track Titled “Police”

Award-winning Nigerian artist Kizz Daniel is ushering in a new era with the release of his highly anticipated single, “Police”, featuring the legendary six-time Grammy winner Angelique Kidjo and singer-songwriter Johnny Drille. This upbeat, feel-good track serves as the lead single from his upcoming album and sets the tone with infectious melodies, smooth rhythms, and rich storytelling.

“Police” is a vibrant collaboration produced by a powerhouse trio—MOG Beatz from Ghana (known for his work with Sarkodie, Mr Eazi, and King Promise), Blaise Beatz from Nigeria (whose credits include Chris Brown, Davido, and Simi), and Johnny Drille, who also lends his vocals to the track. Together, they blend modern Afrobeat, soul, and global influences to create a sound that’s irresistibly catchy and emotionally resonant.

The track is a humorous, lighthearted, yet romantic tale about a couple with clashing schedules, leading the man to jokingly “call the police” over his lover’s irresistible charm. Packed with witty lyrics and a playful melody, “Police” offers a fresh perspective on love. Angelique Kidjo brings her signature brilliance, Johnny Drille adds depth with his velvety vocals, and Kizz Daniel delivers his signature flair—resulting in a multi-generational, cross-cultural hit.

“Police” is now available on all major digital streaming platforms.

Since breaking out with his debut single “Woju” in 2014, Kizz Daniel has become a leading force in Afrobeats. His debut album New Era won Album of the Year at The Headies in 2016, and he was nominated for The Future Awards Africa in 2017. His 2018 sophomore project No Bad Songz, powered by the hit “Nesesari”, topped the iTunes World Album Chart on its release day.

From 2020 onward, Kizz Daniel has released four critically acclaimed projects—King Of Love, Barnabas, Maverick, and TZA—featuring fan favorites like “Boys Are Bad”, “Lie”, “Rich Till I Die”, “Showa”, “Marhaba”, and “Twe Twe”.

With over 4 billion streams, two Shazam chart-topping singles, sold-out tours across Africa, North America, and Europe, and a social media fanbase of over 25 million, Kizz Daniel continues to be a dominant figure representing Afrobeats on the global stage. From “Nesesari” to “Buga” and “Cough (Odo)”, his music blends Afrobeats, pop, and R&B with captivating lyrics and magnetic stage presence.

Following a blockbuster 2022—where he was Africa’s most streamed artist in the first half of the year, released the summer anthem “Buga”, and performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony alongside Diplo and Calvin Harris—2023 proved just as remarkable. His fourth studio album Maverick soared, he headlined the Essence Festival, and teamed up with Becky G on a chart-topping collaboration.

With “Police”, Kizz Daniel once again demonstrates why he’s a global ambassador for Afrobeats—uniting legends, voices, and cultures through music.
