Kanye West and Bianca Censori Accuse Beverly Hills Dentist of Malpractice Over Nitrous Oxide Addiction

Kanye West, also known as Ye, and his wife, Bianca Censori, have filed a formal notice of intent to sue Dr. Thomas Connelly, a prominent Beverly Hills dentist, alleging medical malpractice and misconduct. The couple claims that Dr. Connelly’s actions led to West’s addiction to nitrous oxide, commonly known as laughing gas, resulting in significant physical, psychological, and financial harm.

Allegations of Malpractice and Misconduct

According to the notice, filed on April 30, 2025, Dr. Connelly administered or supplied nitrous oxide and other sedative substances to West in quantities and frequencies lacking legitimate medical justification. Notably, the dentist allegedly delivered large “surgical-size” nitrous oxide tanks to West’s residence, enabling and encouraging him to inhale the gas outside of any medical setting. Additionally, Dr. Connelly is accused of instructing West on how to self-administer the substance and continuing treatment despite signs of distress and erratic behavior. The lawsuit also includes allegations of fraud, exploitation, and attempts to seize control of West’s Yeezy brand while he was incapacitated.

Impact on West and Censori

The legal complaint states that West suffered neurological damage and physical harm due to prolonged nitrous oxide exposure, as well as significant psychological trauma and emotional distress. As a result, he developed a dependency on nitrous oxide, a condition he would not have encountered but for Dr. Connelly’s alleged misconduct. Censori, in turn, has been deprived of the companionship, support, services, and marital relationship of her husband during this time.

Previous Allegations and Legal Actions

In August 2024, Milo Yiannopoulos, West’s former representative, filed a complaint with the California Dental Board, accusing Dr. Connelly of fraud and attempting to exploit West financially. Yiannopoulos alleged that Dr. Connelly moved into West’s apartment building and charged him $50,000 per month for nitrous oxide. Dr. Connelly has denied these allegations, labeling them as misleading and factually incorrect.

Legal Proceedings and Next Steps

As required by California law, a formal notice was served to Dr. Connelly 90 days in advance of the potential malpractice lawsuit. The dentist has not publicly responded to the recent allegations. West and Censori’s legal team, led by attorney Andrew Cherkasky, are preparing to proceed with the lawsuit if the matter is not resolved amicably.

Public Reaction and Media Coverage

The allegations have garnered significant media attention, with various outlets reporting on the lawsuit and its implications. The case has sparked discussions about medical ethics, celebrity influence, and the responsibilities of healthcare professionals in managing patient care.
