Just a day before, in celebration of Obi Cubana’s milestone birthday, Chief Priest posted a series of photos capturing memorable moments they’ve shared over the years. In the caption, he acknowledged Obi as the man who first believed in him and discovered his potential. He also offered prayers for more blessings, good health, and wealth for his mentor.

A Bond That Withstood Time and Trials

Like many high-profile friendships, the relationship between Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest hasn’t been without challenges. The duo once experienced a public fallout that kept them apart for a while. However, their reunion at Obi Cubana’s mother’s lavish funeral in 2021 marked the rekindling of their friendship.

In 2022, Chief Priest shut down rumours of another feud after his silence on the promotion of Odogwu Bitters, a brand owned by Obi Cubana. To clear the air, he shared a video of them partying together in a club and referred to Obi as his “overall boss,” putting speculations to rest.

Solidarity in Tough Times

Their bond has been further proven through mutual support during tough times. When Cubana Chief Priest faced legal troubles with the EFCC, Obi, who had also once faced arrest in 2021 over alleged money laundering, empathized with him. Obi reflected on the overwhelming nature of the experience, sharing in his dialect how stressful the situation had been.

Back then, Chief Priest also stood by Obi during his legal battle, declaring that “what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.” He added that the Igbo community is used to being targeted and victimized.

Brotherhood and Breaking Records

Most recently, Obi Cubana publicly praised Chief Priest for an extraordinary gesture — gifting his childhood friend 47 cows for his mother’s burial. Obi celebrated him for continuously setting and surpassing records.

With their enduring loyalty and public support for one another, it’s clear the friendship between Obi Cubana and Cubana Chief Priest runs deep, built on mutual respect, admiration, and shared success.
