Nollywood actress Laide Bakare has continued her online feud with colleague Eniola Badmus, revealing details of a public altercation they had during the premiere of Owambe Thieves.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Laide recounted the moment she approached Eniola at the event, only to be told not to record her, as Eniola claimed they were not friends. Laide said the incident left her deeply embarrassed and believed Eniola was trying to paint her in a negative light.
Laide went on to claim that she played a significant role in Eniola’s career, having cast her in a movie 20 years ago out of love and belief in her potential. She expressed disappointment over what she described as Eniola’s betrayal and ingratitude.
The actress didn’t hold back, even mocking Eniola’s body transformation surgery and questioning her behavior.
“Eniola, I made you through my movie; I don’t like bragging. When we met at the premiere, Eniola started shouting, ‘Don’t record me and her; she is not my friend’. I was so embarrassed. She wants the world to see me as a bad person. God will judge you. I invested in you over 20 years ago because I truly loved you. I didn’t do anything bad to you. You are just bitter. She embarrassed me more than 4 times at the party last night. When you did your surgery, and they were removing the fat, it’s like they removed your brain, too.”
Laide also accused Eniola of long-term bullying and shared disturbing details from their private exchanges.
“Eniola you have been bully!ng me for a while now. I must not reveal the rest of the messages you sent to me. You said I have an animalistic behaviour. This was the same thing you did to Ope Aiyeola, that you were bodyshaming her. Eniola, your body is fake. I dare you to post a bikini photoshoot. You can’t open your body because it’s d!sgusting. You are ugly. Look at me without makeup. Even filter can’t cover your ug..liness. You have always been a beggar all your life. That was how you were famzing with Davido then and when he lost his son, you turned it to a content. You are w!cked. I have known you for almost 25 years, you used to call me for advice because I am wiser than you. You can’t deny that I gave you a breakthrough in life.”
The Incident at the Premiere
Earlier reports from Kemi Filani detailed the moment the two actresses clashed at the movie premiere. In a circulating video clip, Eniola is seen entering the event while Laide approaches her aggressively, shouting, as Eniola walks away and ignores her.
Shortly after, Laide posted a screenshot of a direct message from Eniola, where she allegedly called Laide an animal. In her caption, Laide reiterated how she gave Eniola her first significant acting role when others refused to work with her due to her looks and weight.
“I gave Eniola her first major role in her life when no one wanted to associate with her because of her ugly looks and obesity. Yet, she paid me back by calling me an animal.”
A History of Conflict
This isn’t the first time the two have publicly clashed. In 2023, they had a fallout after Eniola threw shade at Laide over her unconventional outfit at a book launch, comparing it to religious attire. Laide fired back, accusing Eniola and some colleagues of only pointing out her flaws while ignoring her achievements.
Eniola responded by bringing up past hurts, including Laide allegedly mocking her for being childless and for her political stance during the presidential election.
“You once shamed me for not having a child or family, and for supporting President Tinubu. Don’t mess with me—I love violence,” Eniola reportedly said.
