“I Didn’t Collapse” – Wike Denies Rumour, Says It Was Meant to Distract from Rivers HoS Revelation

Former Governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has firmly denied reports claiming he collapsed recently. In a video statement, Wike described the rumour as false, insisting it was intentionally spread to divert public attention from recent shocking revelations made by the former Head of Service (HoS) of Rivers State.

Rumour of Collapse Dismissed

There had been unconfirmed reports circulating on social media suggesting that Wike had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital. However, in his address, Wike said there was no truth whatsoever to the story. He appeared calm and healthy in the video, laughing off the rumour and calling it “cheap blackmail.”

A Distraction Strategy?

Wike claimed that the rumour was planted to shift attention away from the bombshell revelations made by the former Rivers State Head of Service. Though he did not go into detail about the revelations, it is believed that the statement refers to ongoing tensions between political leaders in Rivers State and alleged corruption issues.

“They Are Panicking” – Wike Says

Wike suggested that those spreading the rumours are afraid of the truth coming out. He said that they are trying to create confusion and fear among the public to avoid facing the consequences of their actions. According to him, “When people know their time is up, they start cooking up lies.”

Strong Political Tensions in Rivers

Rivers State has been in the spotlight lately due to a political crisis involving former allies and public officials. Wike, a key figure in the state’s politics, has remained vocal and influential. His recent public appearances and political moves continue to generate attention nationwide.

Wike Urges Nigerians to Ignore Fake News

The FCT Minister also advised Nigerians to verify information before spreading it, especially during tense political times. He warned that fake news could be used as a dangerous weapon to manipulate the public and silence truth-tellers.

Supporters Stand By Wike

Following his video statement, many of Wike’s supporters have taken to social media to show solidarity and to condemn the rumour. They praised his resilience and called on political opponents to engage in truthful dialogue instead of character attacks.

A Focus on the Bigger Picture

Wike emphasized that he remains focused on his duties as FCT Minister and is not bothered by baseless stories. He promised to keep working hard and to continue speaking out against corruption and bad governance.

The Truth Always Comes Out

In closing, Wike assured the public that the truth will eventually surface and those trying to mislead Nigerians will be exposed. “You can’t hide the truth forever,” he said confidently.

Rumours Can’t Shake True Leadership

This situation serves as a reminder of how fake news can be used as a tool of distraction in politics. However, Wike’s response shows strength, focus, and a commitment to staying on course despite the noise.
