Nigerian midfielder Alex Iwobi has etched his name into Premier League history by becoming the first player from Nigeria to register over 30 goals and 30 assists in the competition.
Iwobi achieved this milestone during a thrilling 3-2 victory for Fulham over Liverpool at Craven Cottage on Sunday.
The 28-year-old was the standout player of the match, playing a crucial role in Fulham’s dramatic win against the league leaders. He opened the scoring with a calm and composed finish—his eighth goal of the season—before providing the assist for the match-winning goal with a perfectly timed pass.
This latest performance pushed Iwobi’s Premier League tally to 34 goals and 30 assists, making him the first Nigerian to reach such a remarkable feat.
Liverpool, who had been unbeaten on the road this season, saw their impressive streak end as Fulham’s high energy and Iwobi’s brilliance proved to be too much for them. Nigerian defender Calvin Bassey also played an important role in the team’s victory, helping to secure the memorable win.
