EFCC Arrests 120 Suspected Internet Fraudsters in Lagos, Seized Luxury Vehicles

On Monday, May 19, 2025, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) apprehended 120 individuals,95 men and 25 women across various locations in Lagos. This operation was conducted by the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, following credible intelligence and extensive surveillance of their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud activities. 

Recovered Assets

During the coordinated operation, the EFCC seized 26 exotic vehicles, including Range Rovers and Mercedes-Benz models, along with expensive jewelry, smartphones, laptops, and numerous incriminating documents. These items are believed to be proceeds from fraudulent activities. 

Ongoing Investigations

The suspects are currently undergoing further investigation. Upon completion of the probe, they are expected to be arraigned in court to face charges related to internet fraud. This operation underscores the EFCC’s commitment to combating cybercrime and its detrimental effects on both national and international levels.
