Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism Wins Sustainable Stand Award at Arabian Travel Market 2025!

The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has been awarded the Sustainable Stand Award at this year’s Arabian Travel Market (ATM), which concludes on Thursday, 1st May, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).

The accolade was presented by an independent panel of judges in recognition of DET’s eco-conscious exhibition stand. An impressive 84% of the stand was constructed from reused materials, while 100% of the components were locally sourced and sustainable. Additionally, DET succeeded in reducing its carbon emissions by approximately 10%, reflecting a strategic, data-driven commitment to environmentally responsible showcasing.

DET further impressed with its sustainable practices throughout the event. The menu featured plant-based, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients, with sustainable packaging and portion control aimed at reducing food waste. In a bid to minimize paper usage, DET replaced printed brochures with digital brochures and QR codes, offered a limited selection of eco-friendly giveaways, and employed digital data collection to eliminate paper-based forms.

The Abu Dhabi and Qatar tourism boards were also highly commended for their sustainability-focused efforts.
