Culpable Homicide: Police Reveal True Identity of Popular Crossdresser Found Dead on Abuja Expressway

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has officially identified the male crossdresser who was tragically found dead on the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway on August 8, 2024. The deceased, widely known by the nickname “Abuja Area Mama,” has been identified as Ifeanyi Chukwu-Agah Benedict, a 33-year-old man from Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Discovery and Initial Confusion

The discovery of the body initially sparked confusion, as the unidentified corpse was mistaken for a female. However, police investigations quickly clarified the situation. The FCT Command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the identity in a statement released on Wednesday, August 21.

Following the discovery, the FCT Command launched a discreet investigation under the directive of Commissioner of Police, CP Benneth C. Igweh. The investigation revealed that Benedict had been residing in Dapé, a neighborhood in the Karmo Area of Abuja.
