A bouncer named Kingsley Otti has been arrested by the Lagos State police for allegedly stabbing a man to death at a nightclub on Ago Palace Way in the Okota area. The incident occurred early in the morning on Monday, October 7, 2024, during an altercation in the club’s parking lot.
Details of the Attack
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos State police command, the confrontation took place around 3:30 AM. During the altercation, the bouncer reportedly attacked the victim, who is believed to be a suspected hoodlum. Following the attack, the man lost consciousness and was subsequently rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital in Idi-Araba, Mushin. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead by medical personnel shortly after arrival.
Police Response
Upon receiving a report from the club manager about the stabbing, the Ago-Okota Division dispatched a team of detectives to the scene. They conducted an investigation at the club and also visited the hospital to examine the deceased’s body, documenting the situation with photographs.
Aftermath and Investigation
The body of the victim has been taken to the Mainland General Hospital Morgue in Yaba for autopsy, as the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbing continues. Police are working to gather more details and understand the events that led to the tragic incident.
