Medical and Loan Agreement
Victor Osimhen, the prolific Nigerian striker, is poised to undergo a medical with Galatasaray following an agreement with Napoli for a loan move. The deal will see Osimhen join the Turkish giants for the season without an option or obligation to buy. The arrangement includes a break clause in January, allowing Galatasaray to secure a fee if Osimhen departs mid-season.
Finalizing the Transfer
Galatasaray’s vice president, Ibrahim Hatipoglu, and director of football, Cenk Ergun, are currently in Italy to finalize the details of the transfer. Plans are in place to fly Osimhen to Istanbul by private jet to complete the move.
Galatasaray’s Recent Performance
Last season, Galatasaray clinched the Turkish Super Lig title for the 24th time but fell short in their Champions League aspirations, being eliminated by Young Boys in the playoffs.
Osimhen’s Napoli Tenure
Since joining Napoli from Lille in 2020, Victor Osimhen has made a significant impact, scoring 76 goals in 133 appearances. He was instrumental in Napoli’s historic Serie A title win during the 2022-23 season, scoring 26 goals in 32 league matches. Despite a slight dip in form in the 2023-24 season, where Napoli finished 10th, Osimhen still netted 17 goals across all competitions.
