Mercy Eke Opens Up About the Pain of Her Butt Lift Surgery

BBNaija star Mercy Eke has revealed the physical and emotional challenges she faced after undergoing a butt lift procedure in 2018. In a candid interview on the “Love is a Game” show, Eke discussed the pressures that led her to make the decision and the intense pain she endured during the recovery process.

Societal Pressure and the Decision to Undergo Surgery

Mercy Eke shared that the growing trend and societal pressures heavily influenced her decision to undergo the surgery. Despite having a slim and beautiful figure, she felt compelled to change her body due to peer pressure and the desire to fit in with the trend of the time.

“To be very truthful, at first, it was because of the trend. I did my body in 2018. I think at the time it was just the trend, maybe peer pressure; everyone was doing it. I had a beautiful, slim body, but my stomach was a little too big. I was scared. I didn’t tell my mum because I didn’t want anybody to discourage me so it was me and two of my other friends. We just planned it, we paid, we did it together at the same time,” Eke explained.

The Grueling Recovery Process

Eke described the recovery process as particularly grueling, highlighting the extreme pain she experienced, especially during the mandatory massages post-surgery. For 14 days, she was unable to sleep on her butt, which added to the physical discomfort.

“After the surgery, you get to have your body massaged, that’s the painful part. You can’t sleep on your butt for 14 days. You have to lay on your stomach. It was painful. You cry for three days, but it’s worth it,” she shared.

Clarifying Rumors About Other Procedures

Mercy Eke addressed rumors about undergoing additional cosmetic procedures, clarifying that aside from the butt lift and minor fillers in her nose, she has not had further body augmentations. She emphasized the importance of educating people about cosmetic procedures, particularly to dispel common misconceptions about liposuction.

My butt is the softest thing you will ever touch because it’s just fat; it’s like water, she added, addressing concerns about the results of her surgery.
