On April 27, 2024, two friends, Celine Ndidum and her Ghanaian friend, Afiba Tandoh, were declared missing after traveling from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to Abia State to meet Andrew Amaechi Ochekwo. The women had met Andrew on Facebook and were staying at his residence.
Gistmania reports that a dismembered body was recently found near Andrew Ochekwo’s home. The body, which was discovered headless and missing its hands and legs, was wrapped in a curtain similar to those in Andrew’s home.
Confirmation by Activist Harrison Gwamnishu
Nigerian activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who has been closely following the case, confirmed the discovery. Gwamnishu noted the body was found decomposing and was located in the ZeeRock area in Ogbor-Hill, Aba, Abia State. He emphasized that it remains uncertain if the body belongs to either Celine or Afiba.
Details of the Discovery
Gwamnishu reported:
“ONE DECOMPOSING DEAD BODY FOUND NEAR OPPOSITE ANDREW’S HOUSE. HEAD,TWO HANDS, TWO LEGS NOT VISIBLE.
You all remember that a few days ago, I posted that anyone with useful information on the whereabouts of Celine and Afiba should send a message and their identity would be protected.
Yesterday, at about 10:00 pm, we arrived in Aba accompanied by police officers from FIB-IRT Abuja. We went out for a search and discovered a decomposed body wrapped and dumped near the ZeeRock area in Ogbor-Hill, Aba, Abia State. We are yet to ascertain if the body is one of the victims or someone else and wish to appeal to NDI Abia to assist us in finding the whereabouts of Celine and Afiba.”
Call for Public Assistance
Gwamnishu highlighted the ongoing disconnect between security agencies and the public, urging anyone with information on the whereabouts of Celine and Afiba to come forward. He assured that all information would be kept confidential to protect informants.
