Mrs. Okonjo Iweala, the former Nigerian Minister of Finance and the current Director General of the World Trade Organization, has made entry into the recent Forbes 100 most powerful women’s list.
Okonjo Iweala was listed in the 87th position according to the Forbes ranking, which was released on December 5th, 2023.
Among the African women who made entry into the list is a Tanzanian businesswoman, Mpuni Madisa, who ranked in the 88th position; Mo Abudu, a Nigerian media mogul, in the 98th position; and Samia Hassan, who took the 93rd position.
Congratulating herself, Okonjo Iweala wrote on her Twitter handle saying, “Feel truly honored to be named one more time as one of the Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women in the world.
“This will be the 7th time, Starting in 2011. Congratulations to all the women on the list, working hard to make a difference and, to others working hard to change the world even if they are not on the list.
“Special congratulations to my younger sister, Mo Abudu, great to have two Nigerian women on this list”
Forbes recognition of world’s most powerful women is conducted every year to recognise women who are making a great impact in changing the world.
