Food Inflation Trends:
The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) reveals Kogi, Rivers, and Kwara states as the frontrunners in year-on-year food inflation in Nigeria. Kogi at 46.32%, Rivers at 44.34%, and Kwara at 43.05% mark the highest food inflation rates. Conversely, Bauchi (31.46%), Plateau (32.56%), and Taraba (33.23%) show the slowest rise in food inflation.
All-Items Inflation Analysis:
According to the latest Consumer Price Index and Inflation report by NBS, Kogi, Oyo, and Bauchi top the list for all-items inflation annually in Nigeria. Kogi records 37.98%, Oyo 36.60%, and Bauchi 35.62% in headline inflation, year-on-year. On the flip side, Borno (26.28%), Taraba (26.72%), and Benue (27.40%) report the slowest rise in headline inflation on a year-on-year basis.
Overall Inflation Figures:
Headline inflation in Nigeria climbs to 31.70%, while food inflation soars to 37.92%. The NBS report underscores Kogi, Rivers, and Kwara as the states with the highest food prices in Nigeria. #NigeriaInflation
