Rapper DDG files emergency motion to stop ex, Halle Bailey from taking their son to Italy

Rapper DDG has filed an emergency court motion to prevent his ex-partner, actress Halle Bailey, from taking their 17-month-old son, Halo, to Italy. The legal dispute has garnered significant public attention due to the serious allegations from both parties.

Background of the Dispute

DDG and Halle Bailey began their relationship in 2022 and welcomed their son, Halo, in December 2023. The couple parted ways in 2024, and since then, their co-parenting relationship has been fraught with legal challenges.

DDG’s Emergency Motion

On June 4, 2025, DDG filed an emergency motion in Los Angeles court to prevent Bailey from traveling internationally with Halo. He alleges that Bailey poses an “imminent emotional and psychological risk” to their child. DDG cites incidents where Bailey allegedly threatened self-harm and behaved erratically, including an event during her pregnancy when she reportedly took his firearm and left the house without informing him. He also references alarming text messages she allegedly sent, threatening to harm herself and suggesting potential danger to Halo.

Bailey’s Response and Previous Allegations

Bailey has contested DDG’s claims, asserting that she should be allowed to travel with Halo for work purposes. In May 2025, she was granted temporary sole custody of Halo and a restraining order against DDG after accusing him of physical and emotional abuse. Bailey alleges that DDG was physically abusive, including an incident where he allegedly slammed her face into a steering wheel, causing dental injuries.

Current Legal Standing

As of now, Bailey holds temporary sole custody of Halo. The restraining order against DDG expired on June 4, 2025, the same day he filed his emergency motion. Bailey has requested the court to deny DDG visitation rights or limit them to supervised sessions.

What’s Next?

The court is expected to review DDG’s emergency motion promptly, given the urgency of the situation. Both parties have presented serious allegations, and the court’s decision will hinge on the best interests and safety of their child, Halo.
