Rapper The Game, born Jayceon Terrell Taylor, has been ordered by a California judge to sell his Calabasas mansion to help satisfy a $7.13 million judgment awarded to Priscilla Rainey, who accused him of sexual assault in 2015 during the filming of his VH1 reality show, She’s Got Game.
Background of the Case
Priscilla Rainey, a contestant on She’s Got Game, filed a lawsuit in 2015 alleging that The Game sexually assaulted her during the show’s production. She claimed that he inappropriately touched her after allegedly getting her intoxicated. The Game denied the allegations and failed to appear in court, leading to a default judgment in 2016 awarding Rainey $7.13 million in damages.
Legal Proceedings and Asset Seizure
Despite the judgment, The Game did not pay the awarded amount, prompting Rainey to seek enforcement through the courts. She accused him of hiding assets and requested the sale of his Calabasas property. The rapper argued that the home was owned by a company, JTT Holdings, in which he held equity, and thus was protected under California’s homestead exemption. However, the court determined that JTT Holdings was a shell entity and that The Game did not have a qualifying interest in the property to claim such an exemption.
The mansion, valued at approximately $4 million, is described as a gated estate with views of the Canyon and Santa Monica Mountains, featuring a casita and a private tennis court.
Ongoing Efforts to Collect Judgment
Over the years, Rainey has taken additional legal steps to collect the judgment, including obtaining rights to The Game’s music royalties and record label. She has reportedly collected nearly $400,000 from his music royalties but continues to pursue the remaining amount.
The Game’s Response
The Game has consistently denied the allegations and criticized the legal proceedings on social media. Following the recent court order, he has not publicly commented on the decision to sell his property.
