If Atiku Gets 2027 Ticket, PDP Is Finished — Bode George

Chief Bode George, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, has warned that the party may collapse if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar emerges as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.

Speaking during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, George didn’t mince words about the potential fallout of Atiku clinching the PDP ticket again.

“If he (Atiku) picks it (PDP’s ticket), that is the end of this party.
If he picks it by manipulation, which was what was done the last time, we will not accept it,” he stated.

Atiku, a veteran presidential hopeful who has been contesting for Nigeria’s top seat for over three decades, came second in the 2023 general election, losing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In preparation for the 2027 elections, Atiku has been spearheading efforts to build an inter-party alliance. This culminated in the announcement of a political coalition on March 20, 2025, aimed at challenging the Tinubu administration and uniting opposition forces.
