Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe is clearly taking no chances after her recent experience with phone theft — and her latest move has left fans laughing.
Living up to the popular saying, “once bitten, twice shy,” the actress was seen safeguarding her new phones at the premiere of her colleague Eniola Ajao’s movie, Owambe Thieves. In a viral clip from the event, Mercy hilariously tucked her two phones into her bra to keep them out of reach.
The video quickly gained attention online, drawing reactions from both celebrities and fans alike.

Last month, during Iyabo Ojo’s movie premiere, Mercy Aigbe suffered a significant loss when two of her phones went missing. The devices were in her assistant’s care during the event. Following the incident, Iyabo Ojo made a public appeal for their return and even offered a financial reward to anyone who could help retrieve them.
Despite the loss, the night wasn’t entirely gloomy for Mercy — she was named Best Dressed Female and walked away with ₦500,000 as her prize.
Mercy Aigbe is no stranger to turning heads with her fashion, and her look that night was no exception. It’s no surprise she took home the win, given her reputation as one of Nollywood’s top fashionistas.

Mercy’s experience isn’t unique. Around the same time, Angela Okorie also vented on social media after her Samsung phone was stolen at an event. Frustrated, she questioned why people were still stealing phones in 2024 and revealed she had cursed the thief, stating she could have easily given them a million naira instead.
Similarly, talent manager Soso Soberekon made headlines after losing his phone at Israel DMW’s wedding. He publicly offered ₦500,000 or more to anyone who could help him recover it.
