A 12-year-old student, Boluwatife Oladipo, from St. Louis Girls’ Grammar School in Akure, Ondo State, tragically passed away during school hours after reportedly predicting her own death. This shocking event occurred on Tuesday when she fainted after expressing feelings of impending mortality.
Unusual Remarks and Warning Signs
Eyewitness accounts reveal that Boluwatife had been playing with her classmates shortly before her collapse. During this time, she made unusual statements, suggesting she felt as though she was about to die. Friends reported that she had even encouraged her mother to have more children, a plea that went unheeded.
Medical Response
Following her collapse, Boluwatife was rushed to the school clinic for initial first aid treatment before being transferred to the University Medical Teaching Hospital (UNIMETH) in Akure. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead upon arrival.
A teacher at the school shared that it seemed evident Boluwatife had a premonition about her fate based on her behavior prior to the incident. “We were alerted that a JSS 3 student had fainted, and we quickly rushed to attend to her,” the teacher recalled.
Details of the Incident
During class transition, Boluwatife placed her head on her desk, which raised concern among her classmates. When approached, she reportedly stated, “I want to die,” prompting immediate action from her teacher. The girl was subsequently taken to the school clinic, where she reiterated her desire to die.
Upon reaching the hospital, medical staff noted she appeared “paper white,” indicating severe blood loss. She was placed on a blood transfusion, but tragically, she passed away during the procedure.
Mother’s Revelation
Following the incident, teachers visited Boluwatife’s home to offer condolences and gathered insights from her mother. The mother revealed that Boluwatife was her first child, and it took her years to conceive. She also shared that on the morning of her daughter’s death, Boluwatife expressed her intention to travel abroad for her Senior Secondary School education, even bidding farewell to her parents with hugs.
In a haunting detail, the mother mentioned seeing a ghostly figure walk past their house earlier that day. Concerned, she and her husband prayed together for protection.
