Owodunni Ibrahim, also known as Primeboy, a close associate of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, famously known as Mohbad, has announced his intent to take legal action against Mohbad’s mother, Abosede Adeyemo-Aloba. Primeboy claims that defamatory statements made by her during an interview have seriously damaged his reputation and career in the music industry.
The Allegations
During a recent interview, Mohbad’s mother accused Primeboy of having frequent altercations with her son while he was alive. She further alleged that Primeboy felt neglected after Mohbad gained fame and implied that he fled following the singer’s death to avoid suspicion regarding the circumstances of Mohbad’s untimely passing.
Primeboy’s Legal Position
Responding to these allegations, Primeboy, through his legal counsel Akinpelu Ogunbona, issued a formal statement refuting the accusations. He denied any conflict with the late singer and expressed that these claims were defamatory and had deeply affected his standing with fans.
The statement outlined, “In the said interview, you alleged that our client always fought the late Mohbad and consistently complained about his neglect by the late Mohbad since he rose to stardom. You also alleged that our client was advised to run away after the death of the late Mohbad so as not to be suspected regarding the death.”
Defamation of Character
Primeboy’s legal team described the comments as defamatory, stating that they were made deliberately to damage his reputation. According to the statement, these accusations have had a significant impact on Primeboy’s public image, leading to a loss of support from his fans and negatively affecting his budding music career.
“Your actions are deliberate to injure and traduce the integrity of our client who is a rising star in the music industry. Your allegations in the interview have greatly and negatively impacted the affection and love being enjoyed by our client from his fans and well-wishers around the world,” the statement added.
Legal Ultimatum and Demands
Primeboy has issued an ultimatum to Mohbad’s mother, requesting that she retract her statements within seven days. He has threatened to pursue legal action if the retraction is not made, signaling the severity of the situation. His legal team emphasized that failure to comply will result in formal court proceedings.
Mohbad’s Death and Its Aftermath
Mohbad passed away in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, sparking widespread public interest. Since his death, Primeboy, being one of Mohbad’s close friends, has found himself drawn into the conversation surrounding the late singer’s passing, and the accusations have only deepened the turmoil.
